Learning and Expressing the Tao through the Body

Learning the Tao whith the Body ("Shingaku Do"-Dogen Zenji) is the practice of the Chinese Internal Arts of Movement of the Nei Ch'ia Chuan Shu, in the context and ground of traditional Zen and the Tao practice. It is an expression of te teachings of the late Shifu Yuan Chueh of po Yun Temple, Canton, and the Chin Lien Chia, the "Golden Lotus" Ch'an (Zen) school (of the Complete Realization Lineage) and the Shifu Augusto Al Q'adi Alcalde (Roshi) who is fully authorized as a guide and succesor in the lineage by Yuan Chueh in 1974. Augusto, responding to the suggestions of his former teacher in the Oahu Island of the Hawaii Nation, reincorporated the Internal Arts of Movement to his own teachings into the Soto-Rinzai Zen lineage, in which he is a Dharma succesor himself. He taught and guided retreats, intensives, meetings and practices In the Zendos and Dojos of the Oahu island over the years. He teaches in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and other places on this wounded Mother Earth.

Night-time draws out what is sacred, and those who know how to tell stories know that the name is the very thing that it names” Truly, indeed. Let us please settle our heart, our zazen, let us settle our Koan, our shikantaza into that night-time. Night time draws out what is sacred. Let the sacred come forth, intimate with that name, the very thing that it names. What is that name? The bird is conveying it; the smell of incense is conveying it. Please do not practise outside this fertile, sacred night. How could we anyway? Cheers!!!

Splinter is Hamato Yoshi. He was a martial art instructor for the Foot Clan, based in Japan. He was framed by his rival, Oroku Saki for trying to murder their common dojo master. Being unable to prove his innocence, he moved away and lived as a hermit and befriended the rats. He found four baby turtles which were accidentally dropped by a boy. He kept and treated them like his children. He found the turtles venturing near broken barrels that were oozing glowing chemical liquid. As he tried to recover them from danger and to clean them with his bare hands, they were all affected by the chemical which was a mutagen. The turtles turned into young anthropomorphic turtles. Hamato himself, became a humanoid Zen Rat.Since then, Yoshi raised the turtles by himself. He also taught them the art of Zen & Kung Fu in order to protect themselves better, since people above ground would not accept them.Hamato was given the nickname "Splinter" by his adoptive sons. Splinter, having seen how humans could treat each other at times, concluded that he preferred his new state, particularly due to the relationship he had with his sons.
